Biographical Data

          Mark Barker was born in Lawton, Oklahoma, during the Korean Conflict and while his father was serving in the U.
    S. Army.  His parents moved to his father’s home town of Colby, Kansas, where his grandfather owned and operated
    a Ford dealership.  Mark attended Colby Consolidated Schools and graduated from Colby High School in 1972.  
    Mark went on active duty with the Kansas National Guard and later transferred to the U.S. Navy.  

          Mark joined the Colorado Springs Police Department and served from May of 1979 until November of 2003.  
    During his tenure as a police officer, Mark worked in patrol, communications, special operations, bomb squad, arson
    investigation, and airport security operations.  He attended many schools while a police officer, including Hazardous
    Devices School (Bomb school) at Redstone Arsenal, Al.; The National Fire Academy (Arson Investigation) at
    Emmetsburg, Md.; The FBI Academy (Bomb Squad Commanders); counter-terrorism seminars, defensive tactics and
    tactical schools.   Mark received numerous letters of appreciation and was awarded Written Commendations,
    Colorado State Senate Tribute, and the Medal of Valor for his service to the community.  

          During the last seven years with the Colorado Springs Police Department, Mark obtained a Bachelor of Arts
    Degree in Criminal Justice and Organizational Leadership from Chapman University.  Mark then attended Denver
    University College of Law and earned a Juris Doctorate.  Upon passing the Colorado bar exam, Mark took a position
    with the Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s office under Jeanne Smith and Dan May.  
                
          Beginning in 2004, Mark went into private practice with two friends and opened Radabaugh, Barker, & Callison  
    Ltd.   

          Mark met and married his wife Teresa in 1973.  In 1976, Mark and Teresa moved to Colorado Springs, where
    they joined Circle Drive Baptist Church and have been members since that time.  Their two daughters, Laura and
    Amy, were both born and raised in Colorado Springs.  Mark and Teresa now have two granddaughters, Katrina and
    Cassandra, who are also natives of Colorado Springs.

          Mark enjoys many outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, camping, and bicycling.  Mark serves in his
    church as a bible study leader and in the community with the Gideons.
